Spliiit is operated by Klarity IT Corp. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app.

Information We Collect

• Account information: Your name, email address, and password (stored securely as a hash) when you create an account.
• Expense data: Descriptions, amounts, dates, and group/friend associations for expenses you create or are part of.
• Usage data: Basic server logs including IP addresses and timestamps for security and troubleshooting purposes.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain the expense splitting service
• To send you transaction notifications and account verification emails
• To authenticate your identity and secure your account
• To enable expense sharing with friends and groups

Information Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties, except:

• With other Spliiit users you choose to split expenses with (they see your name and email)
• With our email service provider (Resend) to deliver transactional emails
• If required by law or to protect our legal rights

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure servers. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. We use HTTPS encryption for all data in transit.

Data Retention

Your expense data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data directly from the app by opening the menu and selecting Delete Account.

Children's Privacy

Spliiit is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
